Full description

Are you ready for an active day out? As long as you are fit, it doesn't matter if you have prior experience with sledding or not. The guide will give you all the necessary instructions. But it will be up to you to do preparations; feeding and harnessing the dogs. And then steering them on the trail. The reward? Views seen by the few and about half a dozen new four-legged friends. It is sure to be a day to remember. To join the adventure you need to meet up outside of the Radisson Blu Hotel 15 minutes before your tour starts. A Tromsø Villmarkssenter employee will greet you there and put you in the correct shuttle. The drive to the center is 25 minutes and your guide will be ready and waiting for you. You will get to change into suitable outerwear before you go and meet the huskies. They will be at their houses waiting for you to prepare the sled for them. Your guide will provide you with all the needed instructions, and before you know it you will have put your dogs in front of the sled. When everything is set up you will head out into the wild. The guide chooses a route according to the conditions of the trail and the group's capability. During the tour, there will be stops to catch a breath, take photos, and refuel with the packed cold lunch. Then you will set off again, racing through the snowy hills. Back at the center a warm bidos, reindeer stew of Sami origin, is waiting for you inside a firelit hut. Or, a vegetarian option if requested in advance. There will also be hot drinks and chocolate cake for dessert. After having spent the entire day outdoors it will be time to go back to Tromsø to rest. COVID-19 measures: If you have symptoms similar to the flu or the common cold, you should not take part in the tour. The main symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, couching, sore throat, and breathing difficulty. Before entering the transport, you must use the provided hand sanitizer. Only use seats that are not facing others. After going out of the transport you must keep a 1-meter distance from the guides and other participants. When you enter the front desk area, lavvus, or gamme you need to use the provided hand sanitizer. You can also find handwashing facilities in the building next to the front desk. In the front desk area, you must follow the line system and stay in the marked waiting spots. You cannot share equipment you borrow from Tromsø Villmarkssenter with other guests. All equipment is cleaned between use according to the requirements set by the government. You may only share a sled with a member of your travel party. You may only sit with members of your travel party for meals. All contact surfaces and the transport vehicles are disinfected between every group.
